Dear Data Enthusiast,

This upcoming RDM Community Meet-up we'll have a late afternoon presentation on Intellectual Property and Open Science at VU Amsterdam. Kira Temme (IXA-GO) and Lucy O'Shea (FGB) will walk us through the European Ip4OS-project and present some guidelines in how to navigate between Open Science principles, valorisation and intellectual property licensing.

Additionally we'll have some news and updates on the latest news from the NeRDS and OS network.

Hope to see you there!

Ip4OS

IP4OS (Intellectual Property for Open Science) is a two-year project funded by the European Union supporting researchers, universities, and innovators in managing intellectual property (IP) in ways that align with Open Science principles. The project promotes a complementary approach, linking IP tools with the sharing of FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Re-usable) research outputs such as data, results, and software.

Its main activities include:

  • Developing multi-professional teams to support IP in Open Science
  • Providing training, tools, and guidelines
  • Raising awareness of responsible IP practices in collaborative research

Through these activities, IP4OS contributes to strengthening the European Research Area by facilitating openness, collaboration, and knowledge circulation.
