Gold, hybrid and diamond journals, preprint platforms, open repositories, blogs or traditional books – how and why do researchers decide where to make what type of work public? What values drive reseachers, managers, policy advisors, funders, librarians and other stakeholders in their work in scholarly communications, and which opposing incentives, conflicting policies or practical hurdles make for some difficult choices?

This workshop will help you make values and principles explicit, and offers you the opportunity to articulate them through discussing a set of dilemmas from various stakeholder perspectives.

Instructor: Fleur Praal (Centre for Digital Scholarship)

Target audience: researchers, policy advisors, research support staff
