About Us

Taxila

The inception of Taxila emerged from collaborative brainstorming sessions, where a dedicated group of individuals recognized the need for a comprehensive catalogue of training materials and events related to research data and software management. Thanks to Ellen, we named our platform Taxila, after a historic Pakistani mountain range known for its ancient Buddhist study center, a place where scholars once gathered to share and exchange knowledge. Our team outlined the technical and functional requirements, we investigated available solutions and chose Tess as the platform for our foundation. Embracing the spirit of open collaboration, we are proud to share that all of our code is open source, ensuring transparency and continuous improvement through community contributions.
The brainstorming group included:
  • Carlos Teijeiro Barjas (SURF)
  • Eirini Zormpa (TU Delft)
  • Ellen Leenarts (RIVM, ex-DANS)
  • Margriet Miedema (LCRDM)
  • Mijke Jetten (Health-RI)
  • Sander Bosch (VU)
