Understanding the basics
Get a head start on your research projects by learning the fundamentals of literature research during this two-hour workshop. You’ll learn what to look out for when researching online, how to judge the value of a source and how to understand the ways in which biases can influence methods and interpretations.
This rookie course is a must for everyone who wants to avoid the most commonly made mistakes.
You’ll learn to:
• make reasoned choices in looking for information;
• recognize the value (academic) information possesses;
• formulate a well-founded opinion about accessibility of information to the public;
• reflect on how your own biases can influence method and interpretation;
• examine new information critically.
