On October 25, between 13.30 and 15.00 at room 0.08 of the Langeveld building, the EUR University Library is organizing a discussion around the possibility of starting a University Press at our university. We will collect experiences from editors of journals based at the EUR, other Dutch university presses and national publishing infrastructures.

The event aims to be a kickstarting discussion for an exciting future in which institutional publishing can play a role in shaping cutting-edge Open Access practices.

PROGRAM:

13:30 – Welcome by dr. Andrea Tarchi (Open Access Officer, EUR Library)

13:35 – Presentation by dr. Yogi Hendlin (Assistant Professor at Erasmus School of Philosophy, Editor-in-Chief of Biosemiotics Journal)

13:50 – Presentation by drs. Margreet Nieborg (Project Manager Groningen University Press)

14:05 – Presentation by Jan Willem Wijnen (Project Manager openjournals.nl)

14:20 – Presentation by Martijn van der Meer (Chair, Journal of Trial and Error)

14:35 – Plenary Q&A and Discussion
