Cabaret artists Herman Finkers and Erik van Muiswinkel both translated the famous book Le Petit Prince from French. Van Muiswinkel made a modern Dutch translation of it; Finkers a Twente one. They talk to each other about tricky issues. How do you translate a masterpiece? What freedoms and limitations do you have as a translator? Can you also improve on the original?
